Bantam Elite League major team rosters announced

Players have been slotted into six teams who will compete later in the summer against top competition

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. — The final major team rosters for this year's Bantam Elite League, a league designed to attract and promote the top Bantam-aged players in Minnesota, have been announced.

Players were invited to try out for an upper-level league in the spring and were evaluated until only the top players remained. The players for the major BEL teams are of the 2007 and 2008 birth years.

The eight major teams will start their competition July 29-31 in Mendota Heights at the St. Thomas Ice Arena. The two other weekends of play will be held in St. Cloud and Burnsville.

Past BEL alumni include current New York Rangers defenseman K'Andre Miller (St. Paul), 2022 Hobey Baker Hat-Trick Finalist Bobby Brink (Minnetonka), and 2021 Mr. Hockey Jack Peart (Grand Rapids), among many others.

The sophomore defender announced her commitment after a successful season with the Skippers that ended in a Class AA second-place finish.

The 32-woman roster will be narrowed down to 23 at the festival in August. Players will be competing for a roster spot on Team USA.
