Minnesota Duluth has received a verbal commitment from a player the Cedar Rapids Gazette dubbed this summer as “the best female player ever to come out of Iowa.”
Defenseman Quinn Dunkle of Marion, Iowa, announced her commitment on Sunday via her Instagram account, including a photo of her recent visit to Amsoil Arena in Duluth.
A high school junior, Dunkle played the previous two seasons in Rochester, New York, with the Bishop Kearney Selects. This year she will suit up for the North American Hockey Academy, located just outside of Boston.
Dunkle, a 5-foot-10 righty, was in St. Cloud this summer for the USA Hockey Girls Under-18 Select Camp, where she finished with a goal in four games.
