Strong third period wins it for Minnesota State against St. Thomas

A tight game between the home-team St. Thomas and visiting Minnesota State wasn't settled until the third period, when Minnesota State scored the game-winning goal, ending it 2-0.

The Mavericks first took the lead halfway through the third period, with a goal from Taylor Otremba, assisted by Whitney Tuttle.

Claire Butorac increased the lead to 2-0 three minutes later, assisted by Jamie Nelson and Lilie Ramirez.

The Mavericks has now won five games in a row.
