Minnesota State defeated the visiting Sacred Heart on Friday, ending 4-1.

The Mavericks took the lead early into the first period, with a goal from Jamie Nelson. Brooke Bryant and Claire Butorac assisted.

Taylor Otremba scored early in the second period, assisted by Sydney Langseth and Madison Mashuga.

Charlotte Akervik then tallied a goal with a minute left, making the score 3-0. Madison Mashuga assisted.

Delani MacKay narrowed the gap to 3-1 in the third period.

The Mavericks increased the lead to 4-1 with 27 seconds remaining of the third period after a goal from Charlotte Akervik.
