Strong third period wins it for Sacred Heart Pioneers against Stonehill Skyhawks

A tight game between the home-team Sacred Heart Pioneers and the visiting Stonehill Skyhawks wasn't settled until the third period, when Sacred Heart scored the game-winning goal, ending it 6-4.

The first period was scoreless, and within the first minute of the second period, the Skyhawks took the lead when Lily Geist scored the first goal assisted by Maeve Carey.

The Pioneers tied the score 1-1 early when Paige McNeil opened the scoring.

Seven minutes into the period, the Skyhawks' Alexis Petford scored a goal, assisted by Gracie Sacca, making the score 2-1.

Late, the Pioneers made it 2-2 with a goal from Cassandra Nevers.

Rachel DeLong took the lead early in the third period, assisted by Julianna Koman and Cassandra Nevers.

Kathryn Karo tied the game 3-3 two minutes later.

Iyla Ryskamp took the lead just one minute later, assisted by Sydney Antonakis.

Sarah Taylar tied the game 4-4 three minutes later, assisted by Paige Whaley.

Paige McNeil took the lead three minutes later, assisted by Delani MacKay.

The Pioneers increased the lead to 6-4 with 01.05 remaining of the third after a goal from Sydney Antonakis.
