Petford strikes twice as Stonehill Skyhawks beat Sacred Heart Pioneers

The Stonehill Skyhawks defeated the hosting Sacred Heart Pioneers 4-1 on Friday.

The visiting Skyhawks took the lead halfway through the first period, with a goal from Paige Whaley.

The Skyhawks increased the lead to 2-0 early into the second period when Alexis Petford netted one.

Lucie Turcotte then tallied a goal four minutes into the period, making the score 3-0. Paige Whaley and Katie Sonntag assisted.

With a minute left, Alexis Petford scored a goal, assisted by Josie Mendeszoon, making the score 4-0.

The Pioneers narrowed the gap to 4-1, after only 52 seconds into the third period when Nicole Guidi beat the goalie, assisted by Delani MacKay.
