Strong defense as Providence Friars beat Maine Black Bears

Three goals scored – and a shutout. The Providence Friars secured the home victory against the Maine Black Bears. The game ended 3-0.

The first period was scoreless, and early in the second period, the Friars took the lead when Sara Hjalmarsson scored the first goal assisted by Lindsay Bochna.

Four minutes into the period, the Friars made it 2-0 with a goal from Rachel Weiss.

The Friars made it 3-0 when Rachel Weiss beat the goalie, assisted by Brooke Becker and Reichen Kirchmair late into the third period. That left the final score at 3-0.
