Strong defense as Minnetonka beat Elk River/Zimmerman

Three goals scored – and a shutout. The Minnetonka secured the home victory against the Elk River/Zimmerman. The game ended 3-0.

The first period was scoreless, and late in the second period, the Minnetonka players took the lead when Lauren Goldsworthy opened the scoring.

Ava Lindsay increased the lead to 2-0 early into the third period, assisted by Grace Sadura and Kendra Distad.

The Minnetonka players made it 3-0 when Ellie Zakrajsheck netted one, assisted by Senja Leeper and Ruby Rauk in the third period. The 3-0 goal held up as the game winner.

The Minnetonka players travel to Roseville/Mahtomedi on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CST at Roseville Ice Arena. The Elk River/Zimmerman players will face Eastview on Thursday at 7 p.m. CST at Furniture and Things Community Event Center.
