The Engineers took the lead early into the first period, a goal by TJ Walsh. Max Smolinski and Jake Gagnon assisted.
The Black Knights tied the game 1-1 in the first period when Joey Baez scored, assisted by Anthony Firriolo and Max Itagaki.

The Black Knights narrowed the gap again with a goal from Jake Felker, assisted by Max Itagaki and Michael Sacco at 2:13 into the third period.
Max Smolinski increased the lead to 5-3 two minutes later, assisted by Jack Agnew and TJ Walsh.
TJ Walsh increased the lead to 6-3 just one minute later, assisted by Jack Agnew and Jakob Lee.
Michael Sacco narrowed the gap to 6-4 late in the third period, assisted by Ricky Lyle and Anthony Firriolo.
The Engineers increased the lead to 7-4 with 01.10 of play remaining into the third after a goal from Austin Heidemann, assisted by Lauri Sertti.
