The Engineers took the lead late in the first period, with a goal from Austin Heidemann. Ryan Mahshie and Lauri Sertti assisted.
The Engineers increased the lead to 2-0 with a minute left into the first when Jakob Lee scored.
The Saints narrowed the gap to 2-1 early into the second period when Josh Boyer netted one, assisted by Felikss Gavars and Tim Makowski.
Six minutes into the period, the Saints made it 2-2 with a goal from Luc Salem.
Jan Lasak took the lead in the middle of the third period, assisted by Tim Makowski.
