The St. Cloud State Huskies players had a good start to the second period. They took a 2-0 lead after goals from Klára Hymlárová and Emma Gentry before the Rensselaer Engineers players replied and made it 2-1 when Maddy Peterson opened the scoring.
The St. Cloud State Huskies players took the lead 3-1 again when Addi Scribner scored after 2:20 in the third period.
Taylor Larsen narrowed the gap somewhat, but the Rensselaer Engineers players didn't come any closer than 3-2.
