Sheyenne edges rival West Fargo in boys hockey

Sheyenne continues its strong season, improving to 10-5 overall and 8-5 in the East

WEST FARGO — The West Fargo Sheyenne boys hockey team grinded out a 1-0 victory over rival West Fargo on Saturday in East Region action at West Fargo Sports Arena.

After just over 22 scoreless minutes, Kai Trudeau broke through for Sheyenne with a goal at the 5 minutes, 4 seconds mark of the second period. Lance Oster and Quade Peters assisted on the goal.

Peyton Buchholz earned the shutout in the net for the Mustangs, tallying 21 saves. Packers goalie Brayden Johnson made 23 saves.

Sheyenne is riding a three-game win streak and continues its strong season, improving to 10-5 overall and 8-5 in the East, after finishing last season 3-19 overall.

West Fargo dropped to 3-12 overall and 3-11 in the East.
