Boys hockey: West Fargo builds lead, holds off Sheyenne

The West Fargo Packers jumped out to a three-goal lead and held off West Fargo Sheyenne on Thursday

WEST FARGO — The West Fargo Packers jumped out to a 3-0 lead early, before holding off the the West Fargo Sheyenne Mustangs 5-3 in East Region boys hockey Thursday night.

Dalton Bossert scored the first goal for West Fargo in the first two minutes, with Griffin Staahl scoring two minutes later. Dalton added another goal in the latter stages of the second to give the Packers a 3-0 cushion. Colten Bossert and Brayden Jacobson scored the remaining goals for West Fargo.

Quade Peters led the Sheyenne with two goals, while Zachary Moser also registered a goal.

West Fargo rose to 3-8 overall and 3-7 in the East. Sheyenne is now 6-5 overall and 4-5 in the East.
