Boys hockey: Davies skates past Devils Lake

Fargo Davies puts 63 shots on goal in an 8-2 win over Devils Lake on Thursday

WEST FARGO — The Fargo Davies Eagles breezed by Devils Lake 8-2 in an East Region matchup at Scheels Arena on Tuesday.

The Eagles had a 63-17 shots-on-goal advantage.

Jobe Freier, Barron Stibbe and Landon Dauner each scored in the first period for Davies. Gavin Balvitsch, Stibbe and Jackson Archbold each buried a goal in the second frame. Charlie Kretchman and Ryan Grothman both found the back of the net in the third to cap the Eagles’ barrage.

Camden Schwab and Carson Hanson each scored once for the Firebirds.

Davies rose to 10-5 overall and 8-4 in the East. Devils Lake dropped to 1-11 both overall and in the East.
