BENSON — With 2 minutes, 54 seconds to play, Morris/Benson Area’s Brady DeHaan netted the game-winning goal for the Storm in a 3-2 boys hockey victory over Willmar on Thursday night.

Brett Hansen had the assist on the game-winner. He also netted a short-handed goal to put MBA on the board in the first period.

The Cardinals’ Ethan Stark opened the game with a first-period unassisted goal at 9:11. Then after Cole Blume put the Storm up 2-1 in the second, Samuel Beutow tied the game back up for Willmar at 10:17. Stark had a helper on the play.

After opening the season with a home win, the Cardinals have dropped their last four games.

Willmar plays the St. Cloud Tech/Apollo Crush at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Center. MBA’s game against Windom on Friday was postponed due to impending weather, so the Storm’s next game will be Tuesday against Northern Lakes.
