Prep Hockey Roundup: Brainerd/Little Falls skate past Willmar girls, 6-0

Flyin' Warriors out-shoots Cardinals 30-6 in victory

BRAINERD — The Brainerd/Little Falls girls hockey team skated to a 6-0 Central Lakes Conference victory over Willmar on Thursday.

The Flyin’ Warriors out-shot the Cardinals, 30-6.

Peyton Lemieur scored two goals for Brainerd/LF. Avery Lemieur, Molly Hagelie, Mercedes Engstrom and Josie Kappes also scored for the Flyin’ Warriors.

Willmar is now off until 7:15 p.m. Jan. 4 when the Cardinals play the St. Cloud Icebreakers at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex.

Mankato East scored two third-period goals to rally to beat the Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato Dragons at Litchfield.

McKenzie Keller and Ava Tibodeau scored 1:20 apart in the third period to give the Cougars the lead. Keller’s goal came at 4:35. Tibodeau’s was at 5:55.

Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato rallied from a 2-1 deficit with three straight goals to earn the victory at Monticello’s Moose Sherritt Ice Arena.

The Dragons received goals from Daniel Estrada, Gavyn Lund, Wyatt Larson and Jack Hillman.

Travis Halonen made 28 saves for the win in net for Litchfield/DC.

Litchfield/D-C plays St. Cloud Tech/Apollo at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex. It’s a first-round game in the Granite City Classic.

Windom jumped out to a 6-0 lead on the way to a win over Morris/Benson Area at Windom.

The Eagles were led by Sonny Heil, who had three goals and an assist in the victory. Cragen Porath added a pair of goals, and Zach Espenson came up with five assists.

Sam Thompson and Trevor Buss each scored for the Storm.

MBA is host to Park Rapids at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the first round of the Morris/Benson Tournament at the Benson Civic Center.
