Jim Johannson, a 1982 Rochester Mayo graduate, was a two-time Olympian, an NCAA national champion and was the assistant executive director of USA Hockey when he died in January of 2018. Johannson left a lasting impression through his work with more than a dozen USA national teams. Wednesday, he was inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame during a ceremony at the RiverCentre in St. Paul.
Goaltender Carter Clafton, a native of Grand Rapids, Minn., has been with five different junior hockey programs. After being cut, picked up by another team, and even traded, his mental toughness throughout the process has earned him a chance to play D-I at Air Force.
Isaiah Norlin, a Farmington native, was a part of Gentry Academy's undefeated season in 2020-21. After graduating from high school, Norlin followed in the footsteps of his older brother to the West Kelowna Warriors of the BCHL, where his play and development on the ice has earned him a Division I commitment to Clarkson.
