MEN’S HOCKEY: Elias Rosén earns another Defenseman of the Week award

Elias Rosén has made a habit of winning weekly awards from the CCHA.

BEMIDJI -- Elias Rosén has made a habit of winning weekly awards from the CCHA.

The Bemidji State men’s hockey junior snagged his third Defenseman of the Week honor from the conference on Monday for his efforts in BSU’s split against Northern Michigan.

Rosén has now been selected as the league’s Defenseman of the Week three of the past eight times, also stockpiling his trophy case with the honors from Jan. 17 and Nov. 29.

The Mora, Sweden, native finished tied for the team lead with four points (1g-3a) on the weekend, all of which came during Saturday’s 5-3 victory . All of those goals were on the power play, and Rosén scored the game-winning goal with 2:57 to play.

Elsewhere around the conference, Tommy Parrottino of Michigan Tech was named the CCHA’s Forward of the Week, Dryden McKay of Minnesota State was the Goaltender of the Week, and Charlie Glockner of Northern Michigan was the Rookie of the Week.


The Beavers (14-16, 12-10 CCHA) have a bye this weekend and will return to action Feb. 18-19 at No. 1 Minnesota State in Mankato, their final road trip of the regular season.
