The hosting Tigers started off strong and took the lead right after the beginning of the game with Gianfranco Cassaro scoring in the first period, a goal assisted by Andrew Petrucci.
The Tigers increased the lead to 2-0 with a goal from Carter Wilkie halfway through the first period, assisted by Kobe Walker and Grady Hobbs.
The Black Knights' John Keranen narrowed the gap to 2-1 late in the first, assisted by Anthony Firriolo and Joey Baez.
The Tigers increased the lead to 3-1 early into the third period when Grady Hobbs scored, assisted by Carter Wilkie and Tanner Andrew.
