Providence Friars beats in overtime Massachusetts Amherst Minutemen

The teams were tied after 60 minutes but overtime saw Providence Friars come away with the close win over Massachusetts Amherst Minutemen on the road on Saturday. The final score was 4-3.

Providence's Brett Berard scored the game-winning goal.

The Friars took the lead halfway through the first period, with a goal from Jamie Engelbert. Liam Valente and Max Crozier assisted.

The Minutemen tied the game 1-1 late into the first when Ryan Ufko scored, assisted by Cal Kiefiuk and Scott Morrow.

The Minutemen took the lead early in the second period when Michael Cameron beat the goalie, assisted by Reed Lebster.

Halfway through, Mikey Adamson scored a goal, assisted by Cal Kiefiuk, making the score 3-1.

Patrick Moynihan narrowed the gap to 3-2 halfway through the third period, assisted by Max Crozier and Parker Ford.

Parker Ford tied the game 3-3 two minutes later, assisted by Brett Berard. With this tie the game went to overtime.

In overtime, it took 1:28 before Brett Berard scored the game-winner for the road team, assisted by Nick Poisson.
