Providence Friars won its home game against Massachusetts Amherst Minutemen on Friday, ending 7-4.

Providence Friars won its home game against Massachusetts Amherst Minutemen on Friday, ending 7-4.

The Friars took the lead early into the first period, with a goal from Chase Yoder.

The Friars increased the lead to 2-0 halfway through the first when Riley Duran scored, assisted by Cody Monds and Jaroslav Chmelar.

The Friars increased the lead to 3-0 with a goal from Brett Berard late in the first, assisted by Max Crozier and Parker Ford.

The Friars scored two goals in second period an held the lead 5-3 going in to the second break.

The Minutemen narrowed the gap again within the first minute when Cal Kiefiuk netted one, assisted by Reed Lebster and Josh Nodler.

Parker Ford increased the lead to 6-4 six minutes later, assisted by Brett Berard and Nick Poisson.

The Friars increased the lead to 7-4 with 10 seconds remaining of the third period after a goal from Riley Duran.

The Friars chalked up four straight home wins.
