Pioneers victorious against Tigers

Sacred Heart defeated RIT 3-1 on Saturday.

The visiting Pioneers took the lead at 12:07 in the first period, with a goal scored by Dante Palecco. Patrick Dawson assisted on the play.

Sacred Heart quickly scored two more goals in the second period.

Gianfranco Cassaro narrowed the gap somewhat, but the Tigers didn't come any closer than 3-1.

In the third period, the Pioneers held on to its 3-1 lead and won.

The Tigers were called for just eight penalty minutes, while the Pioneers spent 23 minutes in the penalty box.
