The Buckeyes opened strong, as the game was just getting started with Davis Burnside scoring in the first period, goal.
Jonathan Bendorf scored early into the second period, assisted by Marko Reifenberger and Gueorgui Feduolov.
But the Buckeyes quickly scored two more goals in the third period to take a commanding lead.
The Lakers narrowed the gap to 3-2 after Garrett Dahm netted one in the third period.

The Buckeyes managed to decide the game 4-2 with 10 seconds left when Kamil Sadlocha scored.
