North Wright County grab extra point vs. Champlin Park/Coon Rapids in overtime

The North Wright County and the visiting Champlin Park/Coon Rapids tied 2-2 in regulation on Thursday. North Wright County beat Champlin Park/Coon Rapids in overtime 3-2.

The North Wright County and the visiting Champlin Park/Coon Rapids tied 2-2 in regulation on Thursday. North Wright County beat Champlin Park/Coon Rapids in overtime 3-2.

North Wright County's Josie VanKuyk scored the game-winning goal.

The first period was scoreless, and halfway through the second period, the Champlin Park/Coon Rapids players took the lead when Sydney Burnevik scored the first goal assisted by Kyla Keding and Emma Olson.

Josie VanKuyk tied the game 1-1 early in the third period, assisted by Adrienne Hansen and Lauren Weimer.

Brooklyn Johnson took the lead only seconds later, assisted by Nola Milton.

Adrienne Hansen tied the game 2-2 late into the third assisted by Josie VanKuyk and Dani Weiland. With this tie the game went to overtime.

In overtime, it took 39 seconds before Josie VanKuyk scored the game-winner for the home team, assisted by Ali Schaefer and Adrienne Hansen.
