The Minnesota Wild are scheduled to hold a preseason practice from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Amsoil Arena in Duluth.
The practice will be open to the public. Admission to Amsoil Arena will be free, while normal daily DECC parking rates will apply.
The last time the Wild practiced in Duluth was in September 2015 at the end of training camp, just prior to the start of the 2015-16 season.
This year's Amsoil Arena practice will take place after the team's final exhibition on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Chicago Blackhawks. The Wild open the regular season out West, playing at the Anaheim Ducks on Oct. 15 and at the Los Angeles Kings on Oct. 16.
For the first time in several years, #mnwild will return to Duluth at the end of training camp for a few days of team bonding and practice.— Michael Russo (@RussoHockey) September 14, 2021
They'll fly there after the road Chicago exhibition game and return home before heading to Anaheim for the season opener Oct. 15. I'm told
The middle of October is setting up to be a busy stretch of hockey early in the season at Amsoil Arena, which will host the UMD women's hockey home-opening series against Minnesota on Oct. 8-9, as well as the men's home opener against Bemidji State on Oct. 9.
The Wild practice on Oct. 12 will be sandwiched in between practices for the Bulldogs' men's and women's teams, who are both home again Oct. 15-17. The women host Wisconsin on Oct. 15 and 17, while the men host Michigan, Providence and Minnesota State-Mankato in the Ice Breaker Tournament Oct. 15-16.
