Murphy scores 2 in Vermont's win over Connecticut

The Vermont beat the visiting Connecticut 6-1 on Saturday.

The hosting Vermont Catamounts players opened strong, right at the beginning of the game with Sini Karjalainen scoring in the first period, a goal assisted by Evelyne Blais-Savoie and Hailey Burns.

The Vermont Catamounts' players Theresa Schafzahl increased the lead to 2-0 in the middle of the first period, assisted by Natalie Mlynkova and Corinne McCool.

The Vermont Catamounts players increased the lead to 3-0 late in the first when Ellice Murphy scored, assisted by Theresa Schafzahl and Lara Beecher.

The second period ended with a 6-1 lead for the Vermont Catamounts players.
