The game-winning goal was scored by MSU's Tanner Kelly.
The River Hawks started off strong and took the lead right after the beginning of the game with Brian Chambers scoring in the first period, a goal assisted by Carl Berglund and Brehdan Engum.
The Spartans tied the game 1-1 late into the first period when Miroslav Mucha scored, assisted by Matt Basgall and Nicolas Muller.
