The Minutemen started the game strong, with two quick goals from Josh Lopina (2).
The Minutemen scored again, making it 3-0 with a goal from Bobby Trivigno after 7:03 in the second period.
The Friars narrowed the gap to 3-1 after Riley Duran netted one in the period.
The Minutemen took the lead 4-1 again when Cal Kiefiuk scored with 02.21 remaining in the third period and took firm control of the game.

Matt Koopman closed the gap for the Friars at 4-2, and gave the game life once more with just two minutes of play remaining.
The Minutemen were whistled for six penalty minutes, while the Friars just received two minutes.
