Which team will win it all? The Rink Live writers have a favorite
All six teams covered by The Rink Live are in the NCAA men's hockey tournament field. As the field narrows down to the Frozen Four in Pittsburgh, there's a strong favorite among our writers for the national champion.
North Dakota will win its ninth national championship. That's the sentiment of The Rink Live beat writers who all have teams in the 16-team NCAA tournament field.
The Fighting Hawks are the No. 1 overall seed. That's a fact. But in a single game, a bad bounce of the puck or a surprise shorthanded goal could result in a shocking upset. Some games are a coin flip, really.
Mick Hatten, Jess Myers, Austin Monteith, Jason Feldman and Matt Wellens all have UND capturing it all.
But Brad Schlossman, the UND beat writer, does not. He has Wisconsin defeating Minnesota in the national title game.
Now, about that coin. In 2016, Schlossman thought a coin may be a better predictor than himself, and a coin flip throughout the bracket actually did predict the eventual winner that season, North Dakota.
This year, the coin has the Gophers winning it all.
