GRAND FORKS — UND goaltender Harrison Feeney, who was set to enter next season behind Drew DeRidder and Jakob Hellsten on the depth chart, has entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Feeney has two years of college eligibility remaining.
The Lafayette Hill, Pa., product came to UND midway through the 2018-19 season after Fighting Hawks goalie Peter Thome sustained a longterm injury, but Feeney found it difficult to crack the lineup.
Feeney got into one game during his three-and-a-half years on campus, playing the final 3 minutes, 33 seconds of UND's National Collegiate Hockey Conference Pod finale against Miami. Feeney stopped all three shots as UND beat Miami 6-2 in Omaha's Baxter Arena.
Last season, Feeney backed up Zach Driscoll and Hellsten.

Next season, UND is expected to go back to carrying three goalies on the roster in DeRidder, Hellsten and Grand Forks native Kaleb Johnson.
The Fighting Hawks have one committed goalie on their recruiting list, too, in Hobie Hedquist of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs in the British Columbia Hockey League. Hedquist is expected to play one more year of junior hockey before coming to UND in the fall of 2023.
Feeney had an excellent junior hockey career for the Lone Star Brahmas in the North American Hockey League.
He posted a .925 save percent during the 2017-18 season and had a .931 during the first half of 2018-19 before he came to UND.
Feeney is the third UND player to enter the transfer portal this offseason, joining forwards Ashton Calder and Brendan Budy.
The Fighting Hawks have added two players out of the portal — DeRidder from Michigan State and defenseman Ty Farmer from UMass.
