Top-seeded Michigan faces Quinnipiac in Allentown, Pennsylvania, with a birth in the Frozen Four at stake. The Wolverines' Big 10 foe, Minnesota, faces Western Michigan in the other matchup.

On Saturday, Denver dashed Minnesota Duluth's hopes of returning once again to the Frozen Four. The NCHC rivals had met five previous times this season, but the Pioneers 2-1 win over the Bulldogs was the one that mattered the most.
Minnesota State edged Notre Dame with a 1-0 victory in Albany, New York, to claim the other slot up for grabs on Saturday. The Mavericks are the only team from the 2021 Frozen Four to advance into this year's championship tournament — Minnesota Duluth, Massachusetts and St. Cloud State all lost in their regionals.
