St. Cloud State's Dominic Basse has been named NCHC Goaltender of the Month for October.
Basse, a junior from Alexandria, Va., is 4-0-0 in four starts with a 1.25 goals-against average and .945 save percentage. His save percentage and GAA both lead the NCHC. His GAA is third in the nation, while his save percentage is tied for fourth nationally.
His four-game winning streak is the longest in the college career of Basse, a transfer from Colorado College and a Chicago Blackhawks draft pick. Basse has been splitting time with senior Jaxon Castor in goal.
Denver's Carter Mazur, a sophomore froward from Jackson, Mich., has been named NCHC Player of the Month. Mazur has 10 goals and 12 points in eight games. Mazur, the NCHC Rookie of the Year last season, is tied for the NCAA lead in goals and hsi four game-winning goals lead the nation. St. Cloud State's Grant Cruikshank was one of eight other nominees for the monthly honor.
Western Michigan forward Ryan McAllister has been named NCHC Rookie of the Month. McAllister, who is from London, Ontario, has 13 points, which is second in the nation among freshmen. His five goals lead all NCHC rookies and his 13 points are tied for second among conference players.
