The hosting Catamounts took the lead halfway through the first period, with a goal from Dawson Good. Eric Gotz and Ralfs Bergmanis assisted.

Joe Leahy increased the lead to 2-0 in the middle of the third period, assisted by William Lemay and Will Zapernick.

Kristaps Skrastins narrowed the gap to 2-1 two minutes later, assisted by Colton Huard and Ryan Black.
