Harvard grabs extra point vs. RPI in overtime

RPI and visiting Harvard tied 2-2 in regulation on Friday. Harvard beat RPI in overtime 3-2.

RPI and visiting Harvard tied 2-2 in regulation on Friday. Harvard beat RPI in overtime 3-2.

Harvard's Alex Gaffney scored the game-winning goal.

The first period was scoreless, and early in the second period, the Engineers took the lead when Ryan Mahshie scored the first goal.

Six minutes into the period, John Evans scored a goal, assisted by John Beaton, making the score 2-0.

The Crimson narrowed the gap to 2-1 within the first minute when Austin Wong found the back of the net, assisted by Marek Hejduk and Kyle Aucoin.

Alex Gaffney tied the game 2-2 late into the third period, assisted by Ryan Siedem and Zakary Karpa. With this tie the game went to overtime.

In overtime, it took 2:44 before Alex Gaffney scored the game-winner for the road team, assisted by Jack Bar and Zakary Karpa.

The Crimson has now won five games in a row.
