A win at last for RPI

RPI has ended its unfortunate run of four straight defeats. The much longed-for break came at home against Dartmouth Big Green. The game finished 2-1.

RPI has ended its unfortunate run of four straight defeats. The much longed-for break came at home against Dartmouth Big Green. The game finished 2-1.

RPI's John Beaton scored the game-winning goal.

The first period was scoreless, and in the middle of the second period, the Big Green took the lead when Luke Haymes opened the scoring assisted by Tucker McRae and Tyler Campbell.

Late, the Engineers' Ryan Mahshie scored a goal, assisted by Kyle Hallbauer and Max Smolinski, making the score 1-1.

The Engineers took the lead with 28 seconds remaining of the third period after a goal from John Beaton, assisted by Kyle Hallbauer and Austin Heidemann.

The Engineers hosts Alaska on Friday at 6 p.m. CST. The Big Green will face Quinnipiac on the road on Friday at 9 p.m. CST.
