Northern Michigan Wildcats digs deep in the third to win against Lake Superior State Lakers

Lake Superior State Lakers and visiting Northern Michigan Wildcats were tied going into the third, but NMU pulled away for a 5-3 victory in game action.

Lake Superior State Lakers and visiting Northern Michigan Wildcats were tied going into the third, but NMU pulled away for a 5-3 victory in game action.

The hosting Lakers took the lead halfway through the first period, with a goal from Timo Bakos. Joshua Wildauer and Benito Posa assisted.

The Lakers increased the lead to 2-0 in the middle of the first when Harrison Roy scored, assisted by Louis Boudon.

Four goals were scored in the second period with the score being tied at 3-3 going in to the second break.

The Wildcats took the lead within the first minute of the third period when David Keefer found the back of the net, assisted by Alex Frye and AJ Vanderbeck.

The Wildcats increased the lead to 5-3 with 01.55 remaining of the third after a goal from Vincent de Mey, assisted by Michael Van Unen and Alex Frye.
