A single goal decided a close game as Penn State won 3-2 at home against Alaska on Tuesday.

The Nittany Lions took the lead early into the first period, with a goal from Tyler Paquette. Tyler Gratton and Chase McLane assisted.

The Nittany Lions increased the lead to 2-0 halfway through the first when Ryan Kirwan scored, assisted by Xander Lamppa and Christian Sarlo.

Christian Sarlo scored in the second period, assisted by Tyler Paquette.

Nanooks' Harrison Israels tallied a goal late in the second period, making the score 3-1. Jonny Sorenson and Matt Koethe assisted.

The Nanooks' Payton Matsui narrowed the gap again, assisted by T.J. Lloyd and Matt Koethe at 6:23 into the third period.
