The first period was scoreless, and early in the second period, the Golden Griffins took the lead when Simon Gravel scored the first goal assisted by Jackson Decker and Max Kouznetsov.

Halfway through, Markus Boguslavsky scored a goal, assisted by Hudson Lambert and Stefano Bottini, making the score 2-0.

The Yellowjackets narrowed the gap to 2-1 early into the third period when Oscar Geschwind scored, assisted by Brian Kramer and Josh Barnes.

Ryan Miotto increased the lead to 3-1 late into the third, assisted by Keaton Mastrodonato.

Blake Bennett narrowed the gap to 3-2 just one minute later, assisted by Jordan Biro.
