Mendel's two goals give Bobcats the win

Quinnipiac beat the visiting St. Lawrence on Friday, ending 4-1.

The hosting team took the lead at 4:36 in the first period, with a goal scored by Griffin Mendel. Joey Cipollone assisted on the play.

The Bobcats scored in the second, receiving goals from Ty Smilanic and Michael Lombardi. The final goal came with 31 seconds left of the period.

The Saints narrowed the gap to 3-1 after Jordan Steinmetz scored in the third period.

The Bobcats managed to decide the game 4-1 with 02.44 left when Griffin Mendel beat the goalie.

Both teams were called for four penalty minutes.

These teams will meet again on Saturday at 6 p.m. CST as they play each other.
