The Mavericks made it 3-0 with a goal from Brendan Furry at 2:06 into the second period.
The Crimson narrowed the gap scoring 3-1 and 3-2 after Sean Farrell och Alex Gaffney netted one in the period.

Casey Dornbach closed the gap for the Crimson at 4-3, and gave the game life once more with just four minutes of play remaining.
The Mavericks were called for four penalty minutes, while the Crimson spent six minutes in the penalty box.
