Mavericks clinch series vs Golden Gophers

The 5-1 win on road sealed the series for Minnesota State against Minnesota. The result means Minnesota State won in 1-0 games.

The hosting Golden Gophers took the lead in the middle of the period into the first period, with a goal scored by Matthew Knies. Bryce Brodzinski assisted.

Benton Maass scored early into the period, assisted by Lucas Sowder and Ondrej Pavel, to give the Mavericks the lead.

Reggie Lutz made it 2-1, after a second-period goal late in the period, assisted by David Silye and Jake Livingstone.

The Mavericks scored in the third, receiving goals from Ondrej Pavel, David Silye and Brendan Furry. The final goal came with 01.09 left to play.
