KEARNEY, Neb. — Tri-City took down the Fargo Force 3-2 in overtime on Saturday in United States Hockey League action at Viaero Center.
Hunter Strand buried the game-winner 41 seconds into the overtime period for Tri-City.
After Caden Villegas scored to make it 1-0 Storm in the first period, Tristan Broz buried the equalizer for Fargo 3 minutes, 42 seconds into the second. Parker Lindauer pushed it to 2-1 Storm at the 6:20 mark of the second frame.
Tri-City (3-2) nearly escaped with a victory in regulation, but Mason Salquist found the back of the net for Fargo with only 17 seconds remaining in the third period to knot it at 2-2 and force overtime.
The Force (3-1) are scheduled to next play at Omaha at 4:05 p.m. Sunday.
