Waterloo Black Hawks win in overtime against Omaha Lancers

With no decisive score in regulation, the Omaha Lancers' home game against the Waterloo Black Hawks ran into overtime on Saturday. Waterloo snatched the win with a final score of 3-2.

The game-winning goal was scored by Waterloo's Gavyn Thoreson.

The hosting team took the lead in the first period, a goal by Braydon Beahm. Adam Cardona assisted.

The Omaha Lancers players increased the lead to 2-0 early in the second period when Marcus Broberg netted one, assisted by Frank D'Ancona and Vincent Salice.

James Hong narrowed the gap to 2-1 early into the third period, assisted by Tyler Procious.

Garrett Schifsky tied the game 2-2 eight minutes later, assisted by Tyler Procious. With this goal, the score was tied and then, the game went to overtime.

In overtime, it took 37 seconds before Gavyn Thoreson scored the game-winner for the road team, assisted by Garrett Schifsky.

The Omaha Lancers players were whistled for 8 penalties, while the Waterloo Black Hawks players received 6 penalties.
