The Waterloo Black Hawks defeated the Sioux Falls Stampede 4-1 on Saturday.

The Waterloo Black Hawks defeated the Sioux Falls Stampede 4-1 on Saturday.

The hosting Black Hawks took the lead halfway through the first period, with a goal from James Hong. Aaron Pionk and Jaedon Kerr assisted.

The Black Hawks increased the lead to 2-0 late in the first when Sam Rinzel scored, assisted by Ben Robertson and Gennadi Chaly.

Will McDonough scored in the second period, assisted by Evan Murr and Maxim Strbak.

Gavin O'Connell increased the lead to 3-1 halfway through the third period, assisted by Gavin Lindberg and Garrett Schifsky.

The Black Hawks increased the lead to 4-1 with 34 seconds remaining of the third after a goal from Myles Hilman, assisted by Owen Baker.
