The Lumberjacks opened strong, taking the lead when Phillip Tresca opened the scoring after 7:50, but the Capitols' Jack Musa tied it up just two minutes later.

The Capitols made it 2-1 again with a goal from Nick DeSantis at 3:58 into the second period.

But the Lumberjacks made three straight goals and went from 2-1 to 4-2.

In the third, Joey Larson scored three minutes into the third period, assisted by Quinn Hutson and Jacob Guevin, increasing the lead for the Lumberjacks.

The teams now have the chance to fine-tune their tactics, as they play each other again in the next matchup on Saturday, May 7 at 6 p.m. CST at Mercy Health Arena.
