The Stars had a good start to the game. They took a 2-0 lead after goals from Aidan Thompson and Yu Sato before the Lancers replied and made it 2-1 when Jared Wright opened the scoring.

Frank D'Ancona scored at 14:27 into the second, assisted by Tanner Rowe, to give the Lancers the lead.

The Lancers scored again, making it 3-2 with a goal from Michael Cameron after 4:23 in the third period.

The Stars came back and made it 3-3 after Antonio Fernandez netted one in the period.

The Lancers managed to decide the game 4-3 with 08.03 left when Chris Hedden found the back of the net.

The Stars were called for just eight penalty minutes, while the Lancers received 16 minutes.

Both teams are back in action on Saturday, with the Stars hosting the Des Moines Buccaneers at 6:05 p.m. CST at Ice Box, and the Lancers visiting the Waterloo Black Hawks at 6:05 p.m. CST at Young Arena.
