Late in the period in the first period Jack Horbach struck a goal, assisted by Richard "DJ" Hart and narrowed the gap for the Capitols.
The Capitols tied it with a minute left into the period, after a Nick DeSantis goal assisted by Jack Horbach and Jack Musa.

The Team USA made it 3-2 with a goal from Drew Fortescue at 10:26 into the second period.
The Capitols came back and made it 3-3 after Jack Musa netted one in the period.
The Team USA scored in the third, receiving goals from William Vote and Oliver Moore (2). The final goal came with 37 seconds left to play.
The Capitols were whistled for just six penalties, while the Team USA received 12 penalties.
