The hosting Team USA opened strong, early in the game with Austin Baker scoring in the first minute, a goal assisted by Cole Eiserman.

The Chicago Steel players tied the game 1-1 with a goal from Nicholas Moldenhauer late into the first period, assisted by Jack Harvey and Michael Emerson.

Four goals were scored in the second period, the score being tied at 3-3 going in to the third period.

James Hagens took the lead early in the third period, assisted by Cole Eiserman and Cole Hutson.

Brodie Ziemer increased the lead to 5-3 two minutes later, assisted by Kamil Bednarik and Brendan McMorrow.

The Chicago Steel players narrowed the gap to 5-4 with five seconds of play remaining into the third after a goal from Michael Emerson, assisted by Jayden Perron.
