The win over the Madison Capitols put the Chicago Steel on top standings, one points above the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Chicago won the game 3-2.
The hosting Capitols started off sharp and took the lead right after the beginning of the game with Jack Horbach scoring in the first minute, goal assisted by Nick DeSantis and Jack Musa.
The Capitols scored again, making it 2-0 with a goal from Nicholas Wallace after 52 seconds in the second period.
The Steel narrowed the gap to 2-1 after Dylan Robbins scored in the period.
In the third, Adam Fantilli scored four minutes into the third period, assisted by Jackson Blake and Joe Miller, to tie the game for the Steel.

In the third period, Adam Fantilli scored his second goal in the 15th minute of the period, assisted by Joe Miller and Cal Thomas, and got the win. With that, the Chicago Steel turned the game around. That left the final score 3-2.
The Capitols were whistled for 12 penalty minutes, while the Steel received 10 minutes.
The win over the Capitols means that the Steel have five road wins in a row.
The teams play again on Saturday, with the Capitols hosting the Green Bay Gamblers at 7:05 p.m. CST at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena, and the Steel hosting the Youngstown Phantoms at 7:05 p.m. CST at Fox Valley Ice Arena.
