Stars win on road against Lancers

The Stars got off to a good start with a 2-0 lead with two quick goals from Aidan Thompson and Lucas Wahlin.

The Lancers narrowed and then closed the gap at 2-2 with goals from Alex Bump and Frank D'Ancona in the beginning of the second period in the second period.

But the Lincoln Stars scored two more goals in the second period to take a commanding lead.

In the third, Dalton Norris scored in the second minute of the third period, assisted by Patrick Raftery and Doug Grimes, increasing the lead for the Stars.

In the third period, Alex Bump scored his second goal eight minutes into the period, assisted by Nate Benoit and Michael Cameron, closing the gap for the Lancers.

The Stars increased the lead to 7-3 with 01.20 of play remaining after a goal from Noah Laba.

The Lancers were called for 12 penalties, while the Stars received 14 penalties.

In the next round on Friday, April 5, Lancers will face the Tri-City Storm home at 7:05 p.m. CST at Liberty First Credit Union Arena, while Stars host the Fargo Force at 7:05 p.m. CST at Scheels Arena.
